Introverted people. (En esta entrada voy a publicar una presentación que hice para ampliación de inglés sobre las personas introvertidas, me parece interesante)

HOW SOCIETY SEES INTROVERTS AND EXTROVERTS

''An introverted person hates people and doesn't like company''
''An extrovert is a person who is friendly and outgoing''
THIS IS NOT ENTIRELY TRUE!

I've searched information about it and mixed it with my experience as an introvert and how I see extroverts so I think that this is how I would define both stereotypes:

-An introverted person is a person who is energized by being alone.
-An extrovert is a person who is energized by being around other people

-Introverts tend to think before they speak so they tend to feel overwhelmed when they are with other people around.
-Extroverts tend to think as they speak so they tend to "fade" when alone and can easily become bored without other people around.

-Extroverted behavior seems to be the standard in society and because of it introverted behavior is judged against the ways an extrovert would behave.

Introverts are interested in and concerned with the internal world.
Extroverts are interested in and concerned with the external world.

SO... WHAT IS INTROVERSION?

Introvert people live in an human-sized hamsterball. They ''make their own energy'' so they ''give'' it in social contact, which means that they naturally find most interaction exhausting and need time to recharge.

Because this energy is a limited resource, they tend to see extroverts as obnoxious predators out to steal their sweet energy juices, that's why they have the hamster ball of personal space.

HOW WOULD I INTERACT WITH AN INTROVERT IF I WERE YOU

Just because some people are introverted it doesn't mean that they don't like company, interaction is just expensive and they don't want to spend it in something wasteful.
They won't spend their precious energy on someone who doesn't want them around and talks with them for obligation.
This doesn't mean that introverts hate talking, they LOVE it, but they want to talk about interesting things or things they know about.
If you talk with them about the weather, the conversation will turn awkward and end in less than 10 seconds, but If you tell them interesting stuff or ask them about things they are interested in, they will listen and then they will not shut up!

FAMOUS INTROVERTS

It might be easy to assume that those who gravitate toward the spotlight of fame are extroverts, but the truth is that many of our most prominent faces, past and present, have actually identified as introverts.
People who identify as introverts often report feeling most creative when they're alone with their own thoughts, rather than in groups.

"Friendship with oneself is all important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world." -Eleanor Roosevelt

SO REMEMBER:

-Respect personal space (hamsterball)
-Energy is limited
-Don't demand to have energy spent on you when its not particularly needed
-Don't take silence as an insult – It isn't!
--Introverts get lonely, too
